Reflection
After learning the concept of blended learning and the flipped classroom, I will change my classroom structure to incorporate more opportunity for students apply content in school and be introduced to content outside of school. I found it really interesting how I had never thought about this concept before but while listing to this video on blended learning they pointed out that the structure of school is backwards where we explain content in school and expect students to apply it at home without the knowledge source to ask questions. I know that some of my high school teachers took this approach to their classroom my senior year of high school and I found that I got more out of school but never actually watched the lessons. Thus, I think it is important that teachers using a flipped model truly modify their lessons to fit and appeal to students. I would love to use this in my future classroom especially if I teach fifth or sixth grade. I think this would allow for a more hands on approach to the in-classroom experience.
