Reflection
The use of technology within the classroom has skyrocketed especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic and impact on distance learning. With that came amazing technologies to enhance classroom learning such as zoom video conferencing. So many platforms foster collaboration and connection such as Padlet and Flipgrid which are tools to allow students to share thoughts/ideas on a certain topic. An educator’s responsibility to utilize technology within the classroom is to foster the connection, collaboration, and inspiration for their students. These technologies facilitate conversation and allow for monumental change to occur rapidly through likes, share, and follows. It is important to push students to a level of creativity that encourages thoughtful design for a specific end goal in mind. Thus, the use of backwards design helps students to truly understand where they are expected to be and how they can get there. A successful classroom recognizes differences and embraces expression through a creative means that fosters conversation and communication.
